The "International Chinese Teacher Training project“ was jointly launched by the United Nations Institute of Training and Research (UNITAR)’s CIFAL Shanghai International Training Center (CIFAL Shanghai) and IMCPI in 2021.
The purpose of the project is to meet the urgent needs of Chinese language and culture for professional talents in international communication. Promote the establishment of a Chinese teacher training and certification system with international standards. Responding to the request of Chinese President Xi Jinping to "tell China's story well and spread China's voice well", give fully use to the enhancement of Chinese language and culture in the process of China’s economic and cultural "going out", to promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and work together to build a better world, provide the necessary language foundation and cultural consensus.
Relying on the superior resources of the CIFAL Shanghai and IMCPI, the project established an "International Chinese Teacher Training Project" management office and a Project Expert Committee, responsible for project design, implementation and promotion.
